Active employees please sign up through the Your Cause portal with links provided below. If you are interested in participating, please search in the portal under “Washoe County Honorary Sheriff’s Deputy Association (“WCHSDA”) Christmas Projects”. For retirees/former employees, please sign up with Kris Wells at kw2734@att.com or 775-544-8336 and she will coordinate with Washoe County. Kris to contact all volunteers with updates.
Fill backpacks – Monday, July 20th from 3-6pm at 911 E Parr

- This is a pre-event volunteer opportunity to fill backpacks with school supplies and hygiene items. There could be some restrictions as to how many volunteers can be there at the same time, so please sign up if interested and we will have more info as the date gets closer. Masks will likely be required and social distancing will apply.

Main event – Saturday, July 25th from 9am to 1pm at 99 Court Street, Reno, NV

- This is the 2nd Annual Christmas in July event in partnership with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. We will be distributing around 600 backpacks to those impacted by COVID at the corner of Sierra and Court Street. We will have a drive through option and a walk up option. Volunteers will be needed to help with setup and teardown, traffic control, and distribution of supplies. Flyer attached as photo.
